I have seen hundreds of patients dramatically transform their lives quickly, recovering from chronic disease in a matter of weeks using the principles of Functional Medicine and food is medicine. I spend time with my patients listening to their histories and looking at the interactions among genetic, environmental/lifestyle factors at play that can influence their long-term health and or complex chronic disease. Functional medicine supports the unique expression of health and vitality for each individual.

Initial Appointment

With Functional medicine we have the convenience of meeting virtually via video conferencing or telephone if you prefer. After setting up an initial visit, you’ll fill out the health history forms and meet with me for 90 minutes. During this time I will collect the initial pieces to your health puzzle by asking specific questions. I listen deeply to connect the patterns of interconnectedness in your health history. At the end of the initial visit I will ascertain which scientific labs to be utilized for your condition. If appropriate at that time, I will also make specific lifestyle, dietary recommendations and prescribe initial supplements that will be helpful, regardless of the labs.

The Labs

Labs are directly shipped to your home with a free return via Fedex or UPS. The functional labs are a combination of saliva, urine, stool and sometimes blood. Blood labs require a mobile phlebotomist to come to your home.

Follow Up Visits

Follow up visits will depend on what is needed and can range from a 30 min visit or an hour visit. After a lab is completed, we will have a 1 hour virtual call for each lab interpretation. Follow ups include lab review, results consultation, a discussion of a prescribed protocol, check-ins related to the prescribed supplement programs and often guidance on lifestyle modifications. Twice a year maintenance and balance check-ins are also considered as follow up visits.

Supplements

The most progress to supplement program prescriptions comes from lab results to treat the underlying root causes. I have expertise in advanced functional lab interpretation and lab driven nutritional interventions. Some supplements may be prescribed based on the clinical picture.

Lab Interpretation Fee

The body is not organized like we thought it was according to all these organs and disease, it is organized according to systems. The body is one integrated dynamic system and everything is connected. Functional medicine is just the right road map to navigate that matrix. Functional medicine can often treat people with problems that seem intractable and frustrating and yet have simple solutions. It’s the right map to underline the upstream and downstream root causes of why we are struggling and to provide a pathway to better health.

Policies

Payment

Payments are accepted via Zelle, Venmo, check or cash.

To reserve your initial appointment, a 50% deposit is required at the time of booking. The remaining balance is due at your visit.
Refunds

All services are non-refundable once rendered.
Lab testing and specialty services are also non-refundable.
Cancellation Policy

** There is a 48 hour cancelation notice for NEW PATIENTS initial appointment only.

A 48-hour notice is required for all new patient initial appointments.

For all follow-up visits, a 24-hour cancellation notice is kindly requested to allow availability for other patients. Appointments canceled within 24 hours will be charged the full session fee.
Late Arrivals

To ensure you receive the full quality of care, appointments may need to be rescheduled if you arrive more than 15 minutes late. A $50 fee will apply for missed or significantly shortened appointments.
Insurance

I do not bill insurance companies, it is up to each individual to determine whether their insurance plan provides coverage for consultations or lab tests. Most supplements are not covered by insurance. I will provide a superbill for your purposes of reimbursement from insurance, FSA or HSA accounts.
